Tech Checkpoint
Privacy Policy
Effective October 10, 2026
Tech Checkpoint ("we", "us") publishes short educational videos about online scams and security habits on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook, and operates this website, techcheckpoint.com. This policy explains what information we handle and how.
This website
This website does not use cookies, analytics, advertising trackers, or forms, and we do not collect personal information through it. Our hosting provider (GitHub Pages) may record standard technical information, such as IP addresses, in server logs for security and operations; that is governed by GitHub's privacy statement.
Our social media channels
When you watch, comment on, or message our channels, the platform you use (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram or Facebook) collects and processes that information under its own privacy policy. We may see public information you choose to share there, such as comments and usernames, and use it only to read and respond to feedback. We do not export, sell, or share it.
Tech Checkpoint Publisher (our internal publishing tool)
Tech Checkpoint Publisher is an internal tool used only by Tech Checkpoint to upload our own videos to our own accounts. It is not offered to the public and does not access anyone else's accounts.
- YouTube API Services. The tool uses YouTube API Services to upload videos and read basic information about our own channel (channel name and ID). It stores an access token for our channel on our own computer. Use of YouTube data is also subject to the Google Privacy Policy.
- Meta (Instagram and Facebook) and TikTok APIs. The tool uses these platforms' official APIs to publish our own videos and read basic information about our own accounts, under each platform's terms and privacy policies.
- What we store. Only the access tokens for our own accounts, and the IDs and links of videos we posted, kept locally on our own computer. We do not collect, store, or share data about any other user.
- No selling or advertising use. We do not sell data obtained through these APIs, share it with third parties, or use it for advertising.
- Revoking access. Access granted to the tool can be revoked at any time through Google security settings, and through the connected-app settings of Meta and TikTok. Stored tokens are deleted when access is revoked or no longer needed.
If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply. We do not add you to any mailing list without your consent.
Children
Our content is general-audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy; the effective date above will change when we do. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
